Google drive is cloud storage run through Google. All you need to do is register for a Google account, for free, and then you automatically have your own Google Drive. With Google drive you get 5GB of free storage that you have to share with your Gmail account. Google drive includes a word processor, spreadsheet application, and presentation builder. Google calls these, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. You can upload photos, videos, photoshop files and many more. Not only can you store your documents in the cloud, but you can share your files with others and edit your documents with collaborators. Google Drive is popularly known throughout the business world. Co-workers can easily share documents with Google Drive and collaborate on them together while sitting at two different computers. Also, if someone needs to give a presentation at a board meeting, all they would need is any computer to get their presentation if it was created in Google Slides. Also, Google Drive is available to you at the palm of your hand with your phone, all you have to do is download the app! Google Drive also contains a social aspect of where you can be apart of groups, blogger and hangouts. Google Groups is convenient way for people with the same interests to talk about them together online. You can also create a group and have your own question and answer forum as well. Blogger is an online blog site where people can create their own blog for free and post whatever they want or how they are feeling. Google hangouts is an instant messaging and video chat platform where anyone with a google account can chat and video chat for free! There is a feature on Google called Google News where anyone with a Google account can click on the feature and be instantly updated with all of the latest news. You can check the weather, scores from your favorite sports teams from the previous night, and much more! The recreational part of Google Drive would be considered the fact that you can have friends on Google and see what they are posting. There are certainly more pros than cons for Google Drive. Google Drive offers more free storage than its competitor Dropbox. Google Drive offers 5GB of free storage, meanwhile Dropbox only provides 2GB. Also, Google Drive automatically saves your work every few seconds. This is very beneficial because if anything happens to the computer or the power goes out, you will still have all of your work! A downside to Google Drive would be the fact that it is not fully mobile user friendly. Google Drive works very well on Android phones, but the majority of the population uses iPhones. Other than that, Google Drive is a very efficient website.
