Prezi

There are many online presentation tools for the public to use. I believe the best tool would be prezi. Prezi is a free online presentation maker with free cloud storage. Prezi is unique in the way that it portrays an online canvas and uses a zooming user interface which allows the viewer to zoom in and out of the slides. Prezi is used widely across the world of business. It is a great tool for coworkers to collaborate on their presentations. Also, many clients see the same boring slideshow made with general presentation makers, but Prezi is different. Prezi engages clients because of its zooming user interface and its virtual canvas. Randy Howard, a design strategist states, “Prezi allows us to communicate design ideas with our clients in a highly engaging and dynamic way, liberating interesting conversations from the boredom of one way presentations.” The zooming canvas is a very important tool because it allows you to view your big picture goals and then zoom in to show the important details. If a company comes up with a new idea and wants to present it to powerful business people, to attract their attention, why not use a presentation that they have never seen before to win them over. Prezi also benefits students because it gives them a new way to present their material that their teacher has never seen before. It is also easy to present your ideas by using prezi. Many people rather use Microsoft Powerpoint but that is because they are not aware Prezi exists. Prezi is the better alternative because it gives a 3D effect with visuals. Also, powerpoint gets boring because all the information is usually given linearly but prezi allows you to group objects in a frame and create a path. Prezi is available to you at the palm of your hand with your smart phone. You can create presentations whenever you want, unlike Microsoft's Powerpoint. If you are an educator, you get more storage for free unlike the average free program for everyone. Prezi is the new and improved presentation tool that everyone should be using. Prezi not only helps visual learners, it helps everyone. Teachers won't loose their kids attention as easily and the students will learn more. Even out outside of the classroom, in board meetings or presentations for your boss, Prezi will always be the answer.

Google Drive

Google drive is cloud storage run through Google. All you need to do is register for a Google account, for free, and then you automatically have your own Google Drive. With Google drive you get 5GB of free storage that you have to share with your Gmail account. Google drive includes a word processor, spreadsheet application, and presentation builder. Google calls these, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. You can upload photos, videos, photoshop files and many more. Not only can you store your documents in the cloud, but you can share your files with others and edit your documents with collaborators. Google Drive is popularly known throughout the business world. Co-workers can easily share documents with Google Drive and collaborate on them together while sitting at two different computers. Also, if someone needs to give a presentation at a board meeting, all they would need is any computer to get their presentation if it was created in Google Slides. Also, Google Drive is available to you at the palm of your hand with your phone, all you have to do is download the app! Google Drive also contains a social aspect of where you can be apart of groups, blogger and hangouts. Google Groups is convenient way for people with the same interests to talk about them together online. You can also create a group and have your own question and answer forum as well.  Blogger is an online blog site where people can create their own blog for free and post whatever they want or how they are feeling. Google hangouts is an instant messaging and video chat platform where anyone with a google account can chat and video chat for free! There is a feature on Google called Google News where anyone with a Google account can click on the feature and be instantly updated with all of the latest news. You can check the weather, scores from your favorite sports teams from the previous night, and much more! The recreational part of Google Drive would be considered the fact that you can have friends on Google and see what they are posting. There are certainly more pros than cons for Google Drive. Google Drive offers more free storage than its competitor Dropbox. Google Drive offers 5GB of free storage, meanwhile Dropbox only provides 2GB. Also, Google Drive automatically saves your work every few seconds. This is very beneficial because if anything happens to the computer or the power goes out, you will still have all of your work! A downside to Google Drive would be the fact that it is not fully mobile user friendly. Google Drive works very well on Android phones, but the majority of the population uses iPhones. Other than that, Google Drive is a very efficient website.

LinkedIn

Linkedin is the largest professional social media network.  Linkedin allows you to stay connected with your colleagues and classmates while building a professional identity online. This website also gives you the opportunity to discover new job opportunities by finding and searching through other professional businesses.  LinkedIn is different than any other social media because it focuses on professional networking unlike Facebook or Twitter where those social medias are more focused on updates on your personal life and your family.  Linkedin was founded in 2003 by Reid Hoffman and Allen Blue. Just a few years after this website was created it became the fastest growing online social networks in the world. There are about 347,000,000 registered members and that number is still growing day by day. Linkedin has the power for you to use your existing connections and to make new connections, which could be used to obtain additional connections which can be used for a lifetime. Twitter and Facebook are very helpful for businesses and getting their name out there but LinkedIn goes the extra mile. For example, on Facebook, many people will view your business profile and click the like button but on LinkedIn you will have other people involved in different types of businesses viewing your page that are more relevant and can give you feedback on your business or company. LinkedIn also catches the social aspect of a social media forum. With Linkedin not only can you connect with people you have known through high school, but you can connect with people in the same job field as you. Another social advantage that LinkedIn offers is that you can connect with people that can only help you move forward with your career, whether its a future boss, new staff or clients. There is a very helpful feature that recommends connections to you based on your own connections that can lead you in the right direction of either a new job or clients. LinkedIn contains the entertainment aspect like any other social media as well. You can follow famous people and your favorite tv shows. LinkedIn can also keep you posted on the most updated news just by following your local news accounts or by what other people that you connect with post. The recreational aspect of LinkedIn would be the fact that you are not only making business connections but connecting with your own friends. Your friends can look at your profile and view how successful you are and what you have been doing with your life. Although every fact stated so far has been positive, LinkedIn has some down sides as well. Like any other social media there will be made up accounts just to mess with people, but there is no way to stop that and determine if the information on peoples pages are accurate. LinkedIn is a very useful website to all of those trying to make it in this world, whether you're straight out of college looking for a job or a business person looking for new connections. LinkedIn is for everyone.
